Bulgaria's first euro coins are now part of our portfolio!
On 1st January 2026 Bulgaria adopted the euro, bringing the number of eurozone member states to 21. Lev coins are expected to remain in circulation until the end of January 2026, before finally becoming history.
The designs on the euro coins will be familiar to the Bulgarian population as well as to experienced collectors. They feature the Madara Rider—a rock relief and UNESCO World Heritage Site—and portraits of two Bulgarian saints: Ivan Rilski and Païssi of Hilandar.
