The first Canadian coin set featuring King Charles III has arrived
As with many former British colonies, the monarch of the United Kingdom is still the head of state in Canada today. Since the death of Queen Elizabeth II on 8th September 2022, this has been her son Charles III, who at 73 years of age was the oldest successor to the throne in British history. In November 2023, the Royal Canadian Mint began issuing new circulation coins.
Now we can offer our customers the complete first dollar coin set from Canada with the portrait of King Charles III on the obverse. The reverse sides show the same motifs as their predecessors: a beaver, the historic sailing ship “Bluenose”, a caribou, the national coat of arms, a loon and a polar bear.
The 2-dollar coin with the polar bear also has a latent image as a security feature.
