Gold and Silver Banknotes
We can offer you two different series of banknotes that have not been printed but minted.
One of the two series comes from the Caribbean island state of Antigua and Barbuda and is the only series in the world with gold and silver banknotes. Strictly limited to 40,000 sets, it was issued in 1988 and contains a total of 72 different 30, 50 and 100 dollars banknotes. The notes are made of 23-karat gold foil with motifs made of .999 silver and feature the golden age of piracy in the Caribbean as well as native animals. The front sides are uniform and depict a view of the harbor town of English Harbor on Antigua, a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and the national coat of arms. The back sides of the notes differ and show sailing ships of famous pirates and buccaneers or animals.
The second of the two series was issued by the Central Bank of Belize to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of independence in 1984. It includes 36 banknotes made of 22-karat gold foil in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 75 and 100 dollars, and is limited to 25,000 sets. The motifs depict the history and wildlife of the country. All the front sides feature a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the Mayan ruins of Altun Ha, a parrot fish and the national coat of arms. The back sides show various wild animals or historic sailing ships.
