The changeover to the Euro is regarded as the biggest currency reform of all time. The Euro was introduced as cash in twelve countries in 2002. After that, the previously valid national currencies were gradually withdrawn and mostly destroyed or melted down. It is therefore virtually impossible to get hold of uncirculated coin sets from the 20 euro states from the time before the Euro was introduced today.
